Immersion Experience for Malaysian Youth
At IMEX high school students experience real-world career environments alongside mentors towards a project outcome. We believe in developing a generation equipped to meet the challenges of our time by piquing interest in and exposure to career paths at a young age. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference in the education of our youth.
Here at IMEX, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. Our program is informed by the need for learning and awareness of opportunities beyond the classroom and evidenced by the demand for and the success of similar efforts worldwide. We strive to enable access to education, mentorship, and experience in order to empower youths in their pursuits.

Introducing IMEX: Biosciences
Our pilot project features the pairing of a research mentor in bioscience-related fields with high school students working together on a research question. Learn about the structure, timeline, and intended outcomes for the program.
Partnering Labs & Institutions
Our participating research labs for the 2019 cohort are those in the biological sciences fields (immunology, neurology, cellular and molecular biology, ecology, evolutionary biology, biochemistry, etc.). Research labs propose and execute projects incorporating student work within their facilities while mentoring students. Well-designed projects see labs and institutions benefiting from growing a strong talent pipeline, successfuly channeling student work in supporting their own research goals, and fulfilling their own educational mandates.
IMEX students are Form 4/5 students who reside or school near our participating research labs. Students apply to the IMEX program in October 2019, undergo orientation by December and are subsequently paired with a research mentor. Projects are carried out during the school break in December and culminate in a Research Conference. IMEX is free and operates on a donation model, and need-based subsidies from IMEX are available for transportation costs.
